Community Involvement
Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta region
The owners and operators of Village West Marina & Resort are long time CA Delta residents and have a deep emotional connection to the Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta region. They are members of the California Delta Chambers and Visitors Bureau and have participated in and developed countless fundraising activities over the years. They have been honored with many awards, and most recently were the recipient of The Record’s Best of San Joaquin 2016. Although “Marina” is no longer a category, we are so proud to have been awarded the last two years the category was around. Our owners and operators believe a sense of community is more than just hosting and attending events. Instead, it is a long-term commitment toward developing social, cultural, and environmental wealth, which in turn cultivates a better quality of life.
Our community is comprised of people who understand the importance of the environmental and ecological health of the Delta, and what it provides in the ways of recreation, establishing a sense of community, economic value, and pride. Environmental stewardship is a significant priority for the owners and operators of Village West Marina. The marina prides itself on its surrounding beauty and the wildlife that live in the area. They focus their ongoing environmental and Delta preservation efforts on several fronts, including ridding the marina of water hyacinth and other invasive plant species—an issue that affects the entire Delta. The marina works above and beyond the call of duty to rid the plants from our location, and without spraying toxic chemicals into the environment, keeping animals safe, and your boats safely afloat and hyacinth free.
Our wish is to have Delta-area residents and visitors alike feel welcome at our marina, appreciate the beauty of the surroundings, understand the marina’s and Delta’s social, cultural, ecological and environmental importance, and engage with our staff so that we can share and preserve our Delta experiences and history.
